Program Development for Black Futures in Food and Beverage Fellowship at HBCUs
Denise Woodard, founder of Partake Foods approached me with a solution to a problem. There is a lack of Black representation in the packaged Food and Beverage space. In order to begin to remedy this, it is critical to show representation and develop interest in the space with students who are getting ready to enter the working world and decide what they want to do in their professional lives. From my experience with the Chobani Incubator, Denise asked me to help her develop and execute on a curriculum that would aide in achieving this goal. It was my honor to do so, and proud to say the first ever cohort went off with tremendous success. Student participants were empowered with summer internships at top companies and applications for a second cohort were opened before the first cohort ended.
